I finished the first volume and "stream" the currently releasing "chapters" of the second volume of the official LN translation on a well-known novel publisher's site, so it's still only a bit more of a first impression.

The story takes place in a supposed otome world which the protagonist is aware of. As per usual, her character is the villainess and she wants to escape a fate of being executed for her crimes at a later point. Now being incarnated into this world she starts out as a child and tries to keep a low profile which is hard as she's a daughter of a high-ranked ... noble in the kingdom and a prospective fiance for the crown-prince. Significantly she's mute due to a recent illness. Also, but no one knows, she's a powerhouse of magic and due to the muteness eventually is able to master silent spell casting.

So the premise was interesting enough for me to pick it up, and I enjoy it quite much. It's developing into some "game of thrones" like set-up with lots of political schemes and strategies described from the POV of several characters. And not to forget, there is a detailed magic system, especially with detailed descriptions of the main character using it.

I'd recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy stories in a nobility setting with the formal language and mannerisms mixed with knights and magic. There is a lot of inner monologue so you'll need to be invested into the characters to enjoy it but at least for me it was worth it. You also need a bit of "suspension of disbelief" given the age of the main characters and their actual behaviour, but I didn't have a problem with it also as it was addressed as part of the story as well.

Well, I fell into the rabbit hole of "gyaru x otaku" recently so I just bought the available volumes after an algorithmic recommendation on an bookshop web site. I wasn't disapponted though. (｡◕‿‿◕｡)

If you're looking for super detailed art or in-your-face ecchi this might not be for you. But if you look for a cute, heartwarming story between sweet characters in a slow burn romance, go ahead. Even with the art often being more on the moe side it brings out the personalities of the characters out well, and they're just adorable. Yes, the plot is checking most of the romcom trope boxes, but seeing ... it with a cast of university students/part time jobbers is refreshing and at least for me it's done well regarding the pacing and character development. I'd love to read more of this series.

I gave it a 9 because I had too much fun with it. I watched this as a Rom-Com with stress on the comedy and the occasional ecchi element.

To get it out of the way, I think what I liked about the show is that they managed to walk the fine line between just "putting some cute school girls on display" and the overall comedic vibe, most of the time the ecchi scenes even made sense to be in there.

Speaking of the vibe, it's really funny and I laughed a lot. The characters are not the most innovative ones but exactly that is why it ... worked for me, especially when they had some twists to what you'd expect from them.

Also the look of the show, colours and character design (the faces Akari can make :) ) were great. And even if it's "just a rom-com" the wholesome vibes of the friendships between the characters, the slow build-up with their backstories and their thoughts about each other were told very well in my view.

So I'd recommend this to anyone who's not put off by the ecchi tag of it.

So this really is season 1 episode 13 to 17 so if you liked the "prequel" it starts right where it left off. It totally has the same vibe and looks.
Our main heroine, Renako still tries to have the best school life ever with the quintet. More plot info would probably be spoiler territory.

I gave the prequel and this a full 10/10 as in my opinion it's just a great watch if you like characters trying to find their emotional footing and this pulled off with beautiful characters, consistently great scenery and colours, accompanied by fitting music. The tone is always right, sometimes funny, sometimes ... deep conversation, but never dragged out too long. Muri muri!

"The champignon witch" is about an apparently ageless witch living in a dark forest with some familiars, she has to avoid contact to other people as her breath as well as skin contact is toxic. Her name is Luna, and she makes medicine for a living, which she sells every three months to a pharmacy in town. Her life changes when she watches a young couple on one of those trips and can't stop thinking about the young man.

So there finally was a translation of the first volume (unfortunately not in English, but German and as far as I know, French as well), available. I ... picked it up as the anime should come out next year. Overall, this first volume sets up the scenery and introduces us to Luna. It's drawn very cute although not all themes of the story are just pure cutesy, people avoid Luna due to her toxicity and she has some special magic tricks which I won't describe for spoiler reasons.
Her being a "champignon witch" was what had piqued my interest, the "special magic" is new and interesting (to me) and I hope to see more in further volumes. There are informational pages explaining the house, her clothing, her surroundings and more, which might be off-putting for those who only want "show don't tell". I give it 9/10 for some novel aspects and the aesthetics.
